Frequently Asked Questions
What can I/we expect when I/we come for a Counselling session?
The initial session is always about looking at the problem(s) and finding out whether we can work together in the future. There is no obligation to continue with further sessions unless you decide that you are ready to begin working with me.
I usually take notes at the first session.
Confidentiality is always maintained whether we work together or not.
The session will last for 50 minutes for an individual or 60 minutes for a couple.
What are the costs involved?
£40 per session for individuals.
£50 per session for couples.
Reductions are available for block bookings of sessions if made at the beginning of the counselling contract.
What happens if I have to cancel an appointment?
I will do my best to accommodate you at another time during the same week. If that is not possible, or you simply miss the session, then you will have to pay for that session.
It is always advisable to come along to all the sessions even if you are tired, depressed, angry, or upset as that is when some of the best work can be done.
How many sessions will be needed?
We don't work on a set number of sessions,as this varies with each client(or clients)
The length of the counselling process is dependent on the needs of the client(s) and what they feel has been achieved in the work, and what they want to achieve,in the future. We regularly assess what has been happening in the sessions and then, when the time is right, we mutually agree to work towards a satisfactory ending.
Where is your practice?
I am situated off Kingston Hill, very near to the pedestrian entrance to Richmond Park. There is easy access from the A3 (Robin Hood Roundabout) and the 85 Bus Stop (from Putney) is 5 minutes away. There is also ample free parking.
